Overview

KeyLogic Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Communications & Congressional Affairs Specialist. KeyLogic supports the Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). The Communications & Congressional Affairs Specialist will serve a critical role on a fast-paced team that supports the NETL Office of the Director.

Major Responsibilities

  • Assist in elevating the NETL brand by developing high-level messages and developing communication products
  • Advise on, develop, and implement strategies for public and internal outreach
  • Collaborate across the organization to ensure messaging cohesiveness and accuracy
  • Ensure consistent articulation and use of the brand throughout all communications and materials, including website, brochures, presentations, speeches, and more
  • Develop executive-level presentations, speeches, and briefing materials for internal and external stakeholder meetings, public forums, conferences, and workshops

Position Requirements

  • Familiarity with the broad portfolio of clean energy technologies and current trends in the environmental and energy-related industries
  • Knowledge of the political process at the federal, state, and local levels
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of individuals at all levels of the organization, including executive leadership
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic messaging and communications at the executive level
  • Experience researching, writing, and editing technical reports and documents at the executive level
  • Ability to review, analyze, and draft materials quickly
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and web-based software applications
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Affairs, Public Policy, Political Science, Political Communications, or a related field
  • Experience in government, public affairs, and energy/climate issues with a preference of 6+ years of related experience
  • Experience with DOE or other government agencies preferred
  • Experience with carbon management technologies preferred
