Manage west campus facilities belonging to Land, Air and Water Resources (LAWR) specically Campbell Tract, Luthin Lab and storage space at the airport storage sheds. Provide research, teaching and outreach support for LAWR and other outside entities (Dept. of Water Resources, University of Illinois, University of Colorado and others) including operation and maintenance of weather stations, research equipment, and heavy equipment. Assist in experimental design and developing procedure for specialized tools and instrumentation. Primarily the Geoprobe drill rig and the Hydroprobe soil moisture monitoring instrument. Coordinate with departmental safety ocers to offer safety training for on and off campus eld safety required by the Worker Protection Standards.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in physical, life, agricultural, or environmental sciences or comparable related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience maintaining and operating sophisticated field and teaching laboratory equipment.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)
Background in physical, life, agricultural, or environmental sciences including sufficient technical knowledge to learn to operate and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on lysimeter, weather stations, monitoring equipment, remote sensing systems and Topcon total survey stations.
Skills to execute multi-step protocols accurately and expeditiously while maintaining meticulous attention to details and to record and report results accurately for all aspects of duties.
Skills to learn and use multiple computer platforms, databases and programs used to create, update, and maintain notes and databases related to meteorological instruments, field equipment, teaching and research projects at the Campbell Tract.
Skills to conduct and coordinate audits, investigations and evaluation and achieve corrective action.
Interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain professional relationships, and effectively interact and communication with a diverse group of people including faculty, students, teaching assistants, professional staff, and the university community.
