Job Description

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the women's basketball head coach, assist in all aspects of an NCAA Division I women's basketball program including student recruitment, scheduling, team travel, scouting opponents, practice planning, assisting with the administration of summer camps and clinics, and administration of the women's basketball program in full compliance with NCAA and university rules and regulations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Pursuant to your signed authorization form, we will inquire with your prior institution(s) about any records of substantiated misconduct.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Minimum Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience /training with a college - level program

  • Collegiate coaching or playing experience in the sport of basketball.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)

  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

  • Knowledge of the rules and strategies of basketball. This includes, but is not limited to, teaching techniques, coaching strategies and safety measures that are necessary for the UC Davis student-athlete to compete at the collegiate level.

Preferred:

Additional Preferred License/Certification

  • Current CPR & First Aid certification or must obtain within 30 days from date of hire and certified bi-annually

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)

  • Ability to learn the complex policies and procedures regarding academic eligibility of UC Davis student-athletes. These include UC Davis, Big West Conference and the National Collegiate Athletic Association policies and procedures.

This position is a critical position and subject to a background check. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background investigation including criminal history and identity checks.
