This individual is responsible for driving research and development or implementation of large scale strategic initiatives which have asignificant impact on the business by improving reliability and redundancy of process-critical utilities at Gallo Glass. They will also influence and advise top management cross-functionally on high level projects of programs, most of which involve sizable capital programs. In addition, this individual will demonstrate mastery in multiple disciplines (e.g. electrical power, compressed air, cooling water, natural gas, Oxygen, etc.), which will have immsense impact to the organization.

What You Will Do

  • Develops and oversees strategies to construct, audit and repair glass furnaces to extend life and minimize risk of failure.
  • Using sound analysis, advises cross-functional top management on high level projects andprograms and sells them on new concepts that significantly enhance existing capabilities, andprepares capital expenditure requests for approval.
  • Oversees large, complex, more important projects or more than one project, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc.
  • Directs the preparation and follow-up of large proposals and recommendations for SeniorManagement.
  • Acts as a liaison with other departments, divisions and organizations.
  • Communicates project status to all levels of management.
  • Leads in department and interdepartmental planning and management teams and works cross functionally to improve processes within the organization.
  • Analyzes data to determine feasibility of product proposal.
  • Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures foraccomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to variousphases of project.
  • Prepares project-phase plans and implementation schedules to minimize impact to production,directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on scheduleand within prescribed budget, and evaluates results.
  • Conducts research and analytical studies to develop designs or specifications for systems,equipment or processes.
  • Develops recommendations to change process-critical systems; ensures timely and accurateimplementation.
  • Directs and coordinates building of prototype of system.
  • Plans and develops experimental test programs.
  • Confers with manufacturing and other engineers to clarify and resolve problems; prepares designmodifications, as appropriate.
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans asrequired.
  • Reviews product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics prepared by projectpersonnel.
  • Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets function and performancespecifications.
  • Evaluates engineering test results for possible application to development of systems or otheruses.
  • Acts as a liaison with customers, other departments, divisions, and organizations to ensurefunctional specifications are met.
  • Prepares project reports for management, client, or others.
  • Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmentalagencies.
  • Identifies and obtains team capabilities needed to accomplish project objectives.
  • Balances planning efforts with day-to-day demands.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safetyregulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring theirunderstanding and compliance.

What You Need

  • Bachelor of Science degree plus 15 years of experience in facility engineering, process engineering, operations or manufacturing reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Master's degree plus 13 years of experience in facility engineering, process engineering, operations or manufacturing reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience managing projects.
  • Required to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Oversees large, complex container glass specific projects.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in the container glass industry.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering plus 17 years of experience in facility engineering, process engineering, or manufacturing reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Master's degree plus 15 years of experience in facility engineering, process engineering, operations or manufacturing reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience managing large-scale utility projects
  • Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Experience effectively presenting information to top management and boards of directors.

Compensation:

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $157,800.00 - $236,800.00.
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
