Position Summary Information
Primary Purpose | Immediate opening for a full-time Senior University Counsel in the Office of the General Counsel at University of the Pacific. This position reports to the Chief General Counsel. The attorney in this role will primarily provide legal advice on business transactions and contracts, policy development and review, research, tax, corporate, and intellectual property matters. Subject matter knowledge in other areas of university law, such as employment, faculty matters, student affairs, and privacy a significant plus. This position requires discretion, flexibility, excellent client service, and the ability to execute projects with competing interests in a constantly changing environment. The role is 100% in-person at the University of the Pacific’s beautiful Stockton campus. |

There are extended periods of sitting, moderate periods of standing or walking and infrequent bending, kneeling, stooping and climbing stairs. Work Environment/Work Week/Travel: Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment. Work performed during standard business hours, additional time may be required to meet business needs. Work requires periodic travel between the three campuses of the University. Occasional travel required including to other University campuses, training programs and conferences. |
Hiring Range | $125,000 - $175,000 per year. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. |
